Stella McCartney, the well-known daughter of the former Beatles member Paul McCartney, launched her first collection in 2001, after having worked in two important fashion houses: Chloè and Cristian Lacroix. The designer, who is a strong supporter of the PETA, based her philosophy on the creation of very fined and femenine pieces, without using animal skins or furs. However she mainly uses wool and silk for her baby and lingerie collections. She was awarded Designer of the Year in 2000, and today her collections are sold in more than 50 countries all over the world.
