How to wear the velvet

Velvet Fall/Winter trends 2016-1728 August 2016

Velvet is one of the coolest trends of the next winter. It is ideal for the coldest seasons and is classy, soft and enveloping to the touch. Its origins date back to 1200, when aristocrats and emperors emphasized its preciousness by choosing it to tailor royal and sumptuous clothes, that often were enriched with embroideries and furs.

The designers who chose it, Alberta Ferretti for her collection of pajamas dresses and suits, by giving them a fantastic and fairytale allure; Valentino with his velvet midi dresses was a real revelation on the Fall/Winter catwalks 2016-17, and this isn't all: during the last Festival de Cannes Blake Lively was photographed with a velvet dress in mustard colour, designed by Valentino.

How to match the velvet?
