In this series, we’ve been interviewing some of our favorite fashion bloggers around the world, today our featured blogger is Constance Victoria.
Hi Constance, tell us a little bit about yourself (who you are/what you do/where you’re from, etc.).
My name is Constance Phillips and I am a 24 year old freelance fashion photographer from London.
How would you define your style?
I would say my style is quite an eclectic mix! I like to take inspiration from the bohemian and grunge styles but basically just wear whatever I like and am drawn to rather than following any specific guidelines.
What inspired you to start a style blog? What motivates you to keep blogging?
I was an avid blog fan for quite a long time and then whilst doing my photography degree I decided to start up my own blog to share both my fashion and outfit photos as well as being a platform for my photography work and inspiration.
How did you choose the name of your blog?
My first and middle name – ‘Constance Victoria’! I thought seeing as my name is quite a rare one I would put it to use as my title, although no one ever calls me Constance, they tend to call me Connie instead!
Who/what inspires you?
I get a lot of inspiration from other fashion bloggers actually. When I see an outfit I like i tend to save the picture into a style inspiration folder on my laptop which I go to when i am having outfit problems or lacking in ideas.
What are your favourite pieces in your wardrobe?
I am in love with my Rick Owens dress. I don’t have a lot of designer pieces and the ones I do have are bargains I have found on Ebay or in charity shops, but there is such a difference in the fit and feel of a really luxurious item and I just can’t beat the fit of my Rick Owens little black dress. I also have several vintage pieces which were such great finds and bargains – it makes me love it that little bit more when it was a quest to track down!!
What importance do social networks have for you?
Social networking is hugely important these days. It took me a little while to get the hang of twitter but I can see the benefits now of being able to communicate with the brands and companies you are working with when blogging. Its also a nice way to give a little insight info everyday by sharing photos and updates. Facebook is also a great way to share photos and updates with my regular readers, and share photos which might not necessarily make it onto the blog.
What is your favourite thing to do when not blogging?
When Im not blogging i like to take photos, enjoy reading in the park on the rare sunny days in London and also go out dancing with my friends at the weekend. The simple things really!
For you, what is the world’s most fashionable city?
I know I am biased but I LOVE London style
How would you describe fashion in the city where you live?
The fashion in London is amazing, walking around in the centre of town is so inspirational, and in the east end where I tend to go out there are so many unique and quirky styles. Its very easy to find inspiration just from looking at the people around you here.
What message do you hope to send to your readers?
I hope I come across as a genuine and friendly person without too much of an ego and with a genuine love for what I do. I like to share items on my blog which I have bought second hand in charity shops and on Ebay and so hope my blog is an accessible and realistic inspiration source without overdoing the expensive and designer labels!!
I really want my blog to be aesthetically pleasing and a pretty site to be on, so hopefully my readers enjoy that part of it too :).
