In this series, we’ve been interviewing some of our favorite fashion bloggers around the world, today our featured blogger is Zahra of Trendy Zahra.
Tell us a little bit about yourself (who you are/what you do/where you’re from, etc.).
My name is Zahra Najarali, I have been living in Lisbon for most of my life. I have a degree in Business Management and at the present time I’m working in the financial area but my heart truly beats for fashion.
How would you define your style?
My style has no definition. I believe and love tendencies and looks from past, present and future. One day I can feel like wearing something casual but the next day it can be something glamourous.
How did you find your sense of style?
I didn’t find it, it found me. On every street, on a corner, on a shop, on a trip, on a person I can find so many things that I would adapt to myself.
What inspired you to start a style blog? What motivates you to keep blogging?
It was created as a hobby. There’s so much fashion around us that you need to be able to record it and in today’s time it has to be digital. A blog seemed like the perfect idea. It also allows to share with people my notion of style.
I keep myself motivated because I like to seek new things all the time and getting a response from my readers, really keeps me going.
How did you choose the name of your blog?
It just came up to me one day, if it’s a blog about me, why not use my name in a trendy way? lol
What was the best comment you ever received from a reader?
There’re so many great comments I receive, that it’s unfair to choose only one.
Who/what inspires you?
The colors, the design, the other blogs ….
What are your favourite pieces in your wardrobe?
Shoes, shoes and more shoes. All kinds and types of it.
What is your top fashion tip?
Do not leave your home without an eye concealer… just kiding. Always keep your shoes looking fantastic. You can look casual but with a great pair of shoes you can outshine anything.
What advice do you have for new bloggers or people considering starting a blog?
It’s importante that one starts it’s own blog not just for the sake of it but with intent, to begin or start up something that one truly wants and loves. You can only write about what you really love when you blog, otherwise will just be one more thing out there on the web.
What importance do social networks have for you?
It helps me expand and network. It’s an easy way for me to be apart of so many things at the same time. It is a digital media allowing you to get connected instantly with everything and everyone.
Your first thought in the morning?
Keep sleeping more!!
What is your favourite thing to do when not blogging?
The usual hobbies like going to the movies, try new restaurants (yummy sushi), discover new places and when possible, to travel.
For you, what is the world’s most fashionable city?
London is a place to be. It combines different styles and trends. It’s a really fashionable city. In one street you can see a punk driving a Mercedes and on the other a suit up men driving a harley. Eventhough most of the top designers are not from London this is the best city for inspiration and coolhunting.
How would you describe fashion in the city where you live?
It’s up and coming, I have to be honest, until few years ago, Lisbon was not very trendy but new ideas started to come together. We can see today fashionable streets like Bairro Alto, Chiado, Castilho, Liberdade Avenue all of which show a huge development.
What message do you hope to send to your readers?
I hope that you find in my blog inspiration so you can discover your style and express yourselves.
