In this series, we’ve been interviewing some of our favorite fashion bloggers around the world, today our featured blogger is Giorgio of George Fashion Dreamworld.
Giorgio, Tell us a little bit about yourself (who you are/what you do/where you’re from, etc.).
Giorgio Schimmenti, born in 1992, fashion blogger. I’m sicilian but I live in Florence, where I study fashion styling; i want to become a fashion editor.
How would you define your style?
My style is usually casual-chic, but sometimes i like playing with other styles, like glam rock, anyway studied in details.
How did you find your sense of style?
I think that sense of style is just innate, it’s not enough to follow the latest fashion trends to have style.
What inspired you to start a style blog? What motivates you to keep blogging?
The idea of starting a blog can be traced back to a cold winter day, precisely at 27 December 2010, when surfing various fashion blogs I’ve noticed the lack of information and culture present in most of these. In that moment I decided to create my own blog, George Fashion Dreamworld, with the aim to maintain a high level of information, trends and fashion stories.
How did you choose the name of your blog?
George Fashion Dreamworld? Purely by chance, I’ve always asked myself this question, but to date I have not found an answer yet!
What was the best comment you ever received from a reader?
I like a lot of the comments that argue the theme that I propose, this means that there are still people who, in addition to just looking at the blog, love to read.
Who/what inspires you?
The fashion system is full of stylish people, designers, bloggers and fashionistas I think they are just a few examples from which you can draw inspiration.
What are your favourite pieces in your wardrobe?
My suede loafers!
What is your top fashion tip?
Always to be yourself, to have a personal own style without necessarily having to use the latest trends of the season.
What advice do you have for new bloggers or people considering starting a blog?
The web is full of fashion blogs, what is lacking is the quality, therefore I recommend not to rely exclusively on appearance this important personal space.
What importance do social networks have for you?
For a blogger social networks are essential, both in terms of contacts,both for upgrades, now all the fashion brands operate online.
Your first thought in the morning?
What will I do today? What to wear? I forgot, I hope it does not rain!
What is your favourite thing to do when not blogging?
Shopping? I am constantly looking for new ideas and trends, then what about? I like reading,dancing and keep everything in order, I’m a perfectionist!
For you, what is the world’s most fashionable city?
Paris, all is fashion there!
How would you describe fashion in the city where you live?
Florence is a city rich of fashion! Just think at Gucci and Ferragamo famous fashion brands made in florence!
What message do you hope to send to your readers?
I wish that everyone, not just my readers, understand that fashion is not just an elite phenomenon, nor one apparently, behind a dress or an accessory is hiding a magical world of human relationships and beautiful experience!
