Starting from today i'm going to run a section fully dedicated to the oufits inspired by famous movies, and i decided to start with one of my favourite: Roman Holiday, shot in 1953, directed by William Wyler and interpreted by Audrey Hepburn as the Princess Anna, and by Gregory Peck as Joe Bradley, the reporter.
Even if is a black and white movie, it will not be difficult to imagine it in technicolor!
So to have a romantic Roman holiday on a Vespa with a retro taste, here you are what you need!
For him
The classic unshaped suit, always in light colours, with the two buttons jacket in cotton, by Mauro Grifoni, to match with the white popeline shirt, with Italian collar, by Fay.
Obviously the shoes and the belt must be brown, like the lace-up shoes oxford model, in calf leather, with decorative stitching and rubber sole, and the leather belt with a traditional buckle, both by Salvatore Ferragamo.
The look would be incomplete without the one-button pinstriped wool jacket, by Emporio Armani, that perfectly reproduces the one worn by Gregory Peck in the last scenes. Finally, to make your Roman look flawless, i suggest you the black tie designed by Armani Collezioni.
For her
The soft white blouse with revers, in crepe de chine, wiht lace embellishments on the cuffs, by Patrizia Pepe, tucked into a pleated high waist pencil skirt, with a wide belt on the waistline, and a pairs of low heels in suede, slingback model, by Alberto Guardiani, or also with the bicolor patent leather heels, by Roger Vivier. And finally don't forget the foulard in printed silk designed by Emilio Pucci, to wear tied around the neck.
